The BR55 battle rifle is a gas-operated, magazine-fed, mid-to-long range weapon capable of semi-automatic and burst-firing modes. The BR55 has been used by the United Nations Space Command, as well as the Elites of Blood Covenant. It also appears in Halo: Reach and Halo 3: ODST.
